Dissolving the IPBC at the first place is the most important step. With low solubility of IPBC in water, we commonly use prop ylene glycol or 1, 3-butanediol instead of water as the solvent in the product. We recommend using 1, 3-butanediol in cosmetics on account of security and moist maintenance performance.
For me thanol based products, IPBC can directly dissolve in advance with the calculated percentage. Operation method is as follows:
According to the solubility form showed below, we can first calculate the percentage of IPBC we need, then blending the IPBC with solvent;Finally add the IPBC solution into the product.
