Dibutyl maleate can be used as a raw material for synthetic resins and coatings, as well as impregnating agents, dispersants, lubricants and other impregnating agents in the petroleum industry, fabrics, plastics and paper industries, and can be used as plasticizers for polyvinyl ch loride resins and meth acry lic acid resins. Maleate is used as an intermediate in organic synthesis, mainly for addition reactions on double bonds. For example, the Diels-Alder reaction with butadiene, cyclopen tadiene, etc., the addition of hydrogen, nitrile, mercaptan, amine and other compounds containing active hydrogen, the famous surfactant dialkyl ester succinate sulfonate, is prepared by the addition of sodium bi sulfite. Other amm onia chemicalbooks and amines are added to maleate esters at the same time, and amination (imimidation) reactions are carried out due to ammolysis, that is, it plays the role of an acylating agent. Diethyl maleate is widely used, and is also used as an intermediate in the production of pesticides and pharmaceuticals such as high-efficiency insecticides, and can also be used in the production of polymer compounds; Dimethyl maleate, dibutyl ester and dioctyl ester are excellent plasticizers for PVC; It can be copolymerised with monomers such as vinyl ch loride and vinyl ace tate, and used as coatings, adhesives, impregnating agents, dispersants, lubricants and other impregnating agents for papermaking and fabrics; Diethylhexyl maleate and dinonyl maleate are good petroleum pour point reducers.
